Pikey Peak Trek – 6 Days Shared Trekking Itinerary
Overview:
Pikey Peak (4,065m) is a hidden gem in the lower Everest region, offering breathtaking views of Mount Everest and other Himalayan peaks. This trek is ideal for trekkers seeking a short yet rewarding experience with cultural insights, stunning landscapes, and panoramic mountain vistas.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Kathmandu to Dhap (2,850m) | Drive (8-9 hours)
Depart from Kathmandu early morning via shared jeep/bus.
Enjoy scenic views of terraced fields, rivers, and traditional villages.
Overnight at a teahouse in Dhap.
Day 2: Dhap to Jhapre (2,820m) | Trek (4-5 hours)
Start trekking through rhododendron forests and small settlements.
Arrive in Jhapre, a beautiful village with monastery views and a glimpse of Everest.
Overnight at a teahouse in Jhapre.
Day 3: Jhapre to Pikey Base Camp (3,640m) | Trek (5-6 hours)
Trek through lush forests and pastures with stunning views of Numbur Himal.
Reach Pikey Base Camp, where we stay overnight at a teahouse.
Day 4: Pikey Peak Summit (4,065m) & Trek to Loding (2,515m) | Trek (6-7 hours)
Early morning ascent to Pikey Peak to witness sunrise over Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and more.
Descend to Loding through picturesque landscapes and charming villages.
Overnight at a teahouse in Loding.
Day 5: Loding to Phaplu (2,470m) | Trek (4-5 hours)
Continue descending through forests and small Sherpa settlements.
Reach Phaplu, a lively town with local attractions.
Overnight at a teahouse in Phaplu.
Day 6: Phaplu to Kathmandu | Drive (8-9 hours)
Return journey to Kathmandu via shared jeep/bus.
Enjoy the final views of the countryside and mountains.
End of the trek.
